Congatulations to Troop 1's Newest Eagle Scout
Wishing a Happy 107th Birthday to
Boy Scouts of America
Troop 1 from St. Paul Minnesota was first chartered in September of 1910 by Father Jerome Hart, the Pastor at the Church of St Mark. We are recognized by the Boy Scouts Of America Catholic Committee on Scouting as the first Catholic Boy Scout Troop in the Nation. While you need not be Catholic to join us, we do ask that all of our members be mindful and respectful of our strong ties to the teachings of the Catholic Church and the Church of St Mark. We meet on Monday evenings from 7 till 8:30 pm in the Gathering/Band Room at St Mark's SchoolMeeting location info
Troop 1 prides itself on our High Adventure programs. Some of our activities include backpacking trips to Glacier National Park, Isle Royale National Park, and Philmont Scout Ranch. We have also been to Sea Base in Florida, and Fred Sommers Northern Tier Canoe Base. Round that out with numerous trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, backpacking the Superior Hiking Trail, sailing and sea kayaking in Lake Superior and cave exploration (spelunking) of "wild" caves in southeastern Minnesota, and you should be able to find something to keep you interested. So drop us a line or stop by a meeting and join today.
